Kyrie Eleison
O gracious Light,
pure brightness of the ever-living Father in heaven,
O Jesus Christ, holy and blessed!
Now as I come to the setting of the sun,
and my eyes behold the evening light,
I sing your praises O God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
You are worthy at all times to be praised by happy voices,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and to be glorified throughout the world.
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what I have done,
and by what I have failed to do.
I have not loved you with my whole heart.
I have not loved my neighbors as myself.
I am truly sorry, and I humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on me and forgive me;
that I may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name. AMEN.

Lord God, Maker and King of the universe, to whom all honor, glory, praise, and worship are due; it is a right and proper thing, at all times, in all places, and in all circumstances, to give you my most hearty thanks and praise, especially for your Son Jesus Christ, who died to take away my sins and the sins of the entire world. He rose again from the dead and sits at your right hand where He rules over all things, including the things I cannot understand.
Lord Jesus, you calmed the raging storm and tamed the surging sea—calm the tempest of indecision and cure the seasickness within my soul . Forgive my faint-heartedness. Grant me not just the courage to do the right thing, but also the wisdom to figure out just what that right thing is. Reassure me, Lord, that even if the right course of action hurts me in the short run, that you will ultimately reward my faithfulness and keep me safe.
Drive far from me all snares of the enemy; send your Holy Spirit to fill me, to guide and strengthen me, to protect me from my own weaknesses; send your holy angels to counsel and defend me. Send me into the world to do your will.
O Holy Spirit, you are the Lord, the giver of life, you sustain all things by the power of your sheer will. Fill me with your mighty power, to have faith with my spirit by believing, and to have faith with my bod y by obeying. Make me the agent of your providence, the distributor of your blessings, the instrument of your grace, and the ambassador of your love—to all people, especially to the sinners for whom Christ died. Give me that perfect love that lifts sinners into sainthood and saints into glory. In every moment of every day, let my mind think the thoughts that you would think, let my eyes see the needs that you would see, let my ears hear the pleas that you would hear, let my legs carry mewhere you would go, let my arms embrace those whom you would lift up, and let my hands be busy about the business of the heavenly Kingdom, so that on that last day, my Lord Jesus will welcome me, saying, “O good and faithful servant , come into the paradise that I have prepared for you.”
I do not ask these things on my own authority, for before you I have none, but in the name of your only begotten Son Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you in your glory, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, as one God, now and forever. AMEN.
Lord Jesus, stay with me, for evening is at hand and the day is past. Be my companion in the way, that I may know you as you are revealed in Scripture and in the breaking of bread. Grant this for the sake of your love. AMEN.
The almighty and merciful Lord—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—bless me and keep me. AMEN.
