You are my God

I will leave you to decide whether the raising of hands in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament is irreverant. I shall not comment on this. I'm sharing this because I find that it's beautiful and re-forces our Catholic believe in the Real Presence.

Reminds me of the idolators of a pop-star

I do not condone the jumping whilst singing P&W in front of the Blessed Sacrament. The raising of hands has room for consideration.

When I saw this clip a month or two ago, I was torn between being scandalized and being extremely moved. On the one hand, it does seem rather like the Blessed Sacrament is crowd-surfing, and the *particular* hand raising going on seems somehow intrusive to me. I would be very uncomfortable putting my adoring hands three inches from the monstrance.

On the other hand, Jesus "humbled himself and took the form of a slave;" wanting to be as close to us as as bread and wine, He comes to us in the Eucharist. The priest bringing Him into the crowds, amongst the worshippers, seems to be in beautiful alignment with this humility. Christ comes to us, because in our weakness we cannot come to Him. I cannot find fault in those whom we witness adoring Him in this clip, because they are responding to this reality with faith and love.

It must be stated that the laity should not come into contact with the Body of Christ (and even the monstrance) only consecrated hands can do so. I think there is no point in raising one's hands in worship; I used to tell Protestants that Christ is already here in all the tabernacles throughout the world, there is no need to raise their hands and eyes toward heaven to 'feel' his presence and touch.

I feel that this video is extremely moving and the author of the video had good intentions of making the video- to promtoe the Real Presence.

I think the video was very moving and beautiful. It truly emphasized the Real Presence. However, I do not condone the jumping or lifting hands up directly in front of the Eucharistic Lord.
